Brown Sugar Rehab

Shannon Sylvain founded Brown Sugar Rehab after her stage IV colon cancer diagnosis at the age of 31. Through research conducted by herself and her physician, Shannon learned that many, if not all, cancers breed and flourish in sugar environments. She also discovered that people of color are affected at higher rates due to lack of education, which ultimately leads to poor choices. Shannon has made it her mission to combat this in a meaningful way.

In 2016, Shannon was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Now in complete remission, Shannon created Brown Sugar Rehab to educate people of color on the effects of excessive sugar consumption and to provide funding for early detection screenings to the uninsured and underinsured.
